Ferrari World Abu Dhabi to Open October 28, 2010

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world’s first Ferrari theme park and largest attraction of its kind, has announced that it will open its doors to the public on October 28, 2010, three weeks ahead of the second Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The long anticipated opening date was announced in a ceremony held on 6th May 2010 at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, attended by representatives from Ferrari, Aldar Properties PJSC and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

Motorists given ID card reprieve by officials

The Emirates Identity Authority has agreed “in principal” to allow motorists in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Sharjah to register their vehicles without an ID card, it has been reported.

National ID card must in all emirates

A top official of the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) has said that the Ministry of Interior’s decision to make the ID card mandatory for processing driving and vehicle licensing transactions is not for Abu Dhabi alone but for all emirates.

The authority has decided to set up a large fully equipped and serviced tent at the headquarters of the Drivers and Vehicle Licensing Directorate in Abu Dhabi to process ID card applications of clients whose licensing formalities will not be completed without the card.

Abu Dhabi hotels to go green - The National

All hotels in Abu Dhabi will have to make do with less under new green operating and design rules to be rolled out this month, the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) says.

The ADTA said yesterday it wants to cut hotels’ energy use by 10 per cent, their water use by 20 per cent and reduce the amount of hotel waste going to landfills by 20 per cent as a first step in its environmental programme.

Capital plans new bus routes to connect with suburbs

The capital’s bus service is continuing its expansion, with new suburban routes expected soon.

Since its launch in the summer of 2008, the bus service has grown from four city routes to 12, plus seven routes connecting the island with suburbs. A city service was launched in Al Ain last July.
