There will be seven hotels on Yas Island before the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes place in 10 months, the island’s developer says.
Aldar, which is building the circuit and all the facilities for the Formula One race, yesterday said the hotels would be completed before the race is held on Nov 1.
That, said WAM, the state news agency, would put almost 2,300 hotel rooms within walking distance of the track, substantially easing pressure on hotels on the mainland.
The new agency added that there would be 20 restaurants on the island by the race date.

Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi, a division of Ali and Sons, and Porsche Middle East and Africa organised a roadshow over 10 days in Abu Dhabi at the Golf and Equestrian Club. The show featured 20 cars and attracted around 300 customers who got the chance to experience the new Porsche technologies embedded in the 2009 models. With professional instructors from Germany, and local sales people available on site, Porsche enthusiasts had all their questions answered and were furthermore professionally trained on mastering driving techniques of off-roading, breaking, handling and slalom.

A blanket of snow has covered a mountain in a part of the UAE, a rare phenomenon for the desert Gulf country, according to local media reports.

Al Jees mountain, 5,700 feet (1,737 metres) above sea level and 25 kilometres (15 miles) northeast of Ras Al Khaimah city, was covered in 20 centimetres (eight inches) of snow, the state news agency WAM said.

I want to open a discussion about the PARKING PROBLEM, it is a big problem, a daily issue, i am sure that everyone is suffering this everyday few times a day depends on the work timing, for me, I face this problem everyday after my work, at least 30 minute to find a proper place to park my car so i will not get ticket or get scratches, then at night many times I cancel going out just afraid to come back late and find no place to park.
