Hi All,
I am a Pakistani citizen and I've got a job in a company in Abu Dhabi. I have submitted all the required documents for the job and now waiting for Security Clearance and Visa. It has been 4 weeks when I accepted offer and submitted docs for visa. As per my last conversation with employer, they told me that security clearance is in progress. I want to know how much time it would take to get the security clearance and Visa.
If anyone of you guys have any idea, kindly help me

It all depends upon the company and the job title u will be recruited for. Oil-Based firms takes longer time then the Ministries. So if u provide exact details, then it will be easy to answer accurately.

In that case it will take in between 5-7 weeks. Due to eid holidays ur case is delayed, but by the 1st week of December, u will sure receive the Clearance. It is not guaranteed whether u it be positive or negative, so i recommend u to continue your job search.

I've received a confirmation from my employer that security clearance has been done and its positive. Now they have applied for my visa and hopefully visa will not take any longer. Do you've any idea how much time visa will take after security check?

it take around 4-5 weeks in normal cases. High patience is required in Govt matters as all of them take much time.

One thing more do you know what do they check in this security clearance? And they check only in UAE or back in hometown also?

They basically check about ur criminal records and whether u were even been reported suspicious by ur home country intelligence. They will track ur hometown address that u provided in the application Form and will request the concerned authorities to provide the criminal clearance letter. And they will also check whether u went into Iran or not as it affects the strength of the case.

Just want to clear some more things.
They will request the criminal clearance for the hometown address or me? I live at a rented place and have given the same address.
They did asked for an attested degree from the ministry and than the UAE Embassy which i provided. If the degree is attested that does mean the security clearance will be ok?
After the clearance how much time does it take for the visa?
When can i call my family?

once the clearance is rejected, its almost impossible to challenge it even though u have crystal clear record. So u should better join some private sector company as they dont have such formalities.

the intelligence has the complete details of ur Address in ur home country by verifying it through ur passport information. They will send letter to the Intelligence in ur country to provide details about u. So it doesnt matter where and how u live, u just need to provide accurate details so that the clearance report is made at the earliest.
Second, security clearance has some impact on the attestation of ur degrees as they will veriffy whether they are real or not.
Third, visa is not a big deal as it will then be responsibility of ur company. It do take between 1-2 weeks. Once u get the visa, then u can call ur family in a week.

I was given an offer in April compaign and I'm telling you my experience with the so called security clearance.
There is no specific rules, it is totally subjective, I know some people got after 2 month, and this is minimum I heard, others got after 5 month. In my case they told me the security clearance is rejected after 5 month, I wasn't really worry because I'm already working in a good company.
So, My advice to you guys, Do not take any action at all until you get the funny security clearance.

Could you plz let me know if you also provided the attested degree certificate for security clearance n visa. What i know, UAE embassy will not attest the degree unless you provide the visa copy issued on your passport. At the time of processing my application, adco didnt ask for this instead asked to process it meanwhile.

Yes i did provided the attested degree certificate for security clearance. For attestation process, UAE embassy only need a copy of passport without visa.
Are your degrees attested? What i did was i send the degrees thru a courier company for UAE degree attestation process on urgent basis for which they charged extra. My degrees were back in 2 weeks time.

Mine is approved after 2 weeks but after the long waited security clearance they told me that the hiring is on hold and they are prioritizing the emirate national.

I have submitted required documents after telephonic interview including current job reference letter, passport and scanned copies of degrees and certifications and application form (requiring details of passport, home address, countries visited, parents details etc) as they are arranging another personal interview at head office etisalat, Abu dhabi.
Its now been around 1 month no response from the employer.
Kindly guide me about the hiring timeline and hiring procedures at etisalat based on your knowledge and personal experience please ?

I am still waiting for my security clearance however I did submit my attested degree at the end of November.
FYI about attesting UK degree in the UK
I found a company that quoted me £380, which I thought was a bit too much. The best way to get your degree attested in the UK:
1. Get attested by a local high street solicitor £10
2. Send you degree to the Foreign & Commonwealth office to have the legalisation of your degree £36 inc postage (http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/about-us/what-we-do/services-we-deliver/legal-s...)
3. Take it to the UAE embassy for them to attest your degree £20

I talked to the recruiting agent today and they told me still most of the cases are waitin for the security clearance and no joining had been made from Oct Campaign till now.
