Etisalat and their Recruitment Timeline

Salam All,

This is my first post and I am glad to discover this site. It's pretty helpful.

I have accepted an offer from Etisalat. I have submitted some of the documents they require. Only thing left is my Bachelor's Degree which needs to be verified and attested by the Foreign Ministry and UAE Embassy in my home country. It's under process anyway and will be done 2 weeks from now. Etisalat is aware of it.

Now, I am patiently waiting when Etisalat will advise me to tender resignation from my current job. I am currently working in another GCC country. It has been 3 weeks since I accepted the offer.

My concern is how long does it take to process the working/entry permit in Abu Dhabi? I am starting to worry as the waiting time is getting longer now.

I have this thought that they may no longer continue to hire me after submitting all those requirements (except the Authenticated Bachelor's Degree). Does Company there may do like this?

In addition, I want to know some info about Etisalat like head office working hours, work environment, employee's feedback or compalin if any or anything you want to share.

Also, I want to live near the head office. Is it in old airport, right? Are there enough affordable studios or rooms nearby? let say a budget of AED 2,000/month (AED24,000/year). Sharing with only one maybe my other option.

Hope to hear from any of forum members and hope to meet the members once I arrive there. Thanks in advance.

Yours,

moro_ako

Normally work permit could take 2 to 3 weeks, so no worries, Etisalat is a high profile company and I dont think they will ignore your application with out informing you, but how ever do not resign your current job till you hear from them.
for the accommodation you may find a good sharing place for your budget near by airport road

Entry Permit

Moro_ako's picture

Thank you Bigboss.

Is the Authenticated Degree required in processing the entry permit? OR I can join Etisalat without this authenticated document yet. Meaning I can comply & submit the documents on a later date, maybe during my probationary period.

I heard that the authentication of Degree may be done during the probationary period. I don't know if it is correct. Do you have any idea about this?

Thanks.

I think it is required later on when they start processing the resident visa after you get here, I agree with what you heard,

End of Service Benefits

Moro_ako's picture

Etisalat got back to me few days back and sent me the formal contract and the pre-medical examination form to be fulfilled.

I am bothered that the contract is silent about the End of Service Benefits. There is no mention of it, like how many days I am entitled per year. However, there is a provision in the contract that it shall be govern by the UAE Law. Does this mean I am also entitled for the End of Service Benefits even without mentioning it in the Contract and the Article (132) of the UAE Federal Labour Law in respect to the end-of-service gratuity shall apply automatically?

Experts, please clarify. Thank you!

Entry Permit

Dear Moro_AKO/Forum Members,

Congratulations for the job. Hope you are doing good and joined etisalat by now. I have also received the tentative offer in email body from etisalat and they have requested documents for verification which I submitted back to them 3 weeks. As of now, I have not received my offer letter in letter head/soft copy. They have suggested me to go for attestation of documents from UAE embassy of my native country. I am currently working in Qatar. Could you please guide me how long will it take for the offer to come and what are the different stages.

Many thanks in advance.

Hiring Procedure at Etisalat

funwar's picture

Dear All,

Same is the case with me. Initially i got two calls from etisalat HR department. 1st one for asking if I am still interested in working for etisalat and 2nd call was detailed technical interview (12-15 mins).

Next day I got another call asking for some personal details like single /married, kids and in how many days i can join them. (my idea was that they wanted to hire urgently, because in my interview they asked same question)

Next day I got email to submit my current job reference letter, passport scanned copies and scanned copies of degrees and certifications and they are arranging personal interview at head office Abu dhabi. So, i submitted all required documents.

Its now been about 20 days that I am waiting for any further response from etisalat HR.

Kindly guide me about the hiring timeline and hiring procedures at etisalat based on your knowledge and personal experience please ?

Thanks & regards,

My case is different. I was not invited for face to face interview. Nevertheless, they shall inform you what to do next. It is true that they take quite long to process papers. Mine took almost 2 months from receipt of offer to visa. You can always follow-up (email) them politely whats going on.

I know you are anxious now whether they will still recruit you or not. Don't worry much, i bet u will be here in due time. Btw, if you dont mind, which field/department are you into?

Hope my reply helps. :)
