A Job Offer in Abudhabi need an immediate help

Hi there, it was discussed many times the compression between Abu Dhabi and Qatar, and up to my information both are almost the same in living cost and both have high rental.
Accommodation with 2 bed rooms will cost you 8k to 12k monthly depends on the facilities you got, or you may be lucky and get it cheaper in case you spend time looking, for the normal life cost am pretty sure it is exactly the same with Qatar,

but i have been told that the rent charges has been raised with about 40% last 3 months which means that the cost will be between 12k- 15k is that true.

one more thing is the 26k salary for every thing is a good one there.

I don't think you can get a good one for 8k, as u said it really raised in the last few months, I think 26k is a good offer for having a good life style, but you may save less than what you expect.

friends, 25k is a good offer i think, specially if your wife is working and she can help you, the main problem you gonna face is the accommodation but with little patient am sure you can get a good deal. instead of that food and entertainment options is much better than Doha, finally i think you should compare this offer for what you have now, if it wins so go for it..

unfortunately my wife is not working, and comparing to what am getting here in doha AD will win except for the accomodation as am paying about 3500 per month only, i can pay till 8500 in Abu dhabi, but it seems it is impossible to achive this isnt it.

so you friends think that 25k is good for good living and saving.

LOL another friend planing to escape booming DOHA, afres79 i lived in Doha for 4 years and i moved here early this year, and i will never regret this move, i believe house will be a problem here, but options still open, you do not have to live in the AD itself, you can get a little bit far place (20km to 30km) with a good price,

and is it crowded in the morning so i need more than 1 hour for this 20 k driving.

Some of this options are Shahama (15km), bani yas (3km), Mafraa, between the bridges , Bahia around 35km

actually it is a high way, and normally nothing in Abu Dhabi takes 1 hour, it is crowded but not that much like Dubai or Doha, max will be 10 mins,

Cost will vary, but you mentioned that you can pay 8500 and i think it will get you a good place there,

traffic is not a problem in Abu Dhabi, at least not like Dubai. To live 20km out of AD is better than living in itself, due to the parking problems and city morning traffic. Xdoha, maybe you escaped Qatar but still your nickname referring to DOHA.......lol

it seems that every one is encouriging me to accept the offer and become another xdoha :) .

so u all agree that the salary is good and i can get a good apartement for me and my family with around 8500 UAD per month.
i have many options to live out of AD and get to work with 15 min time which is amazing, cus even here in qatar am living in Wakra which is different city out of doha and about 24K from my work.

am very happy that i contact u here and it is my pleasure to be member of the group, and i might give the same advise to others later.

Mara, Guess what? I left Qatar almost 8 months ago, still until now i refer to the currency as Rial not Dirham... Still refer to the local people as Qatari not Emarati, insted of saying am going to Marina Mall I insist on Am going to City Center......lol.....

I'm a Structural Engineer with 5 years experience and I've been offered a position in Abu Dhabi. I've been offered 16000 Dhs/month + health insurance + 1 month paid holiday + 1 ticket home/year (Europe). Can anyone tell me if this is a good proposal?
I was hoping to rent a flat and hopefuly trust the public transport. Will I be able to manage with this income?

Dears, i accepted the offer and i am now in the process of resigning from my current job based on your assurance that i can get a good flat with 8500 AED, please confirm again as am still afraid.

one more thing does any one know what is the process to get my car with me to abu dhabi when i get the visa there.

If you want to get your car here, first you have to process exportation from there, be sure to get a certification that you already paid the tax when u buy it, so they will not ask you to pay it again, i prefer you call the UAE embassy in Qatar so they can give you exact steps,

regarding the house, 8500 may be enough but not for a fancy flat, just be prepare to spend much time looking, be aware that most of the owners will ask for 6months or 1 year advance, mail me when you are here, and i will provide with a contact list

do u advise me to wait untill getting the visa to get resigned or should i resign from now to gain more time.

Normally it will take approx 2 month, i think you better wait till they start processing your visa, then submit your resignation letter, just in case things did not go alright, i think you should give them one month notice so just consider it as well,

aha they already start proxcessing my visa so i should resign now???

one more thing they are asking for the ORIGINAL certificate to be mailed by post to them, is that requiered or a stamped copy one is OK.

It depends about the company policy, regarding the certificate issue, As Bigboss said visa may take 2 months, and i suppose you have to give your current company 1 month notice so you have to arrange it to be in the same time

you may need to wait a while, and when they will tell you that your visa is almost ready so you can resign, because if you resign and your visa is not yet ready so where you will go?? Can you stay in Doha??

so i feel that i am now in 2 risks,

thae first one that i have to send my original certificate by air mail, what if it lost, or the visa not completed.

the second one is i have to resign before being sure that my visa will be accepted, what if it is not (as in doha it may processed and then refused for no reasons).

what do u think dear i thought it is much easier than this.

by the way in qatar it is possible to take only 2 days for the visa to be ready.

What i do not understand, why they want the original certificate, cant you scan it and send it to them??
If you like to be in the safe side, so it is better not to resign until you get your visa then no worries? for me i resign before i get my visa then it takes long with them so i had to come here on visit visa, then later i change it to employment...

mee too i didnt understand y they need the original one to be sent, even i did try to attest the stamped and official copy from UAE empassy to send it instead of the original, the empassy refuse it and asked for the original!!!!!!

u think it is a good idea to ask them for a visit visa to make things easier,

afres, you may ask them to arrange a visit visa for you, so you can come and as u said make things clear, 1st Nov means 40 days more, are you attached to your current company with one month resign notice?? it is little complicated, ryt?
