Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala tourism department in association with global retailer Lulu group will be organizing a four-day-long travel and tourism event in Abu Dhabi from February 22, to promote the 'God's Own Country' in the Middle East tourism market.

Abu Dhabi's Yas Island on Monday announced the launch of a new water taxi service that will ferry to and fro from various locations and around the island.

This facility is in addition to the Yas Express shuttle service and the ADCB Bikeshare network powered by Cyacle. This service will improve connectivity among major attractions around Yas Island and Abu Dhabi.

ABU DHABI // Times for paid parking and public transport in Abu Dhabi will change for Ramadan.
Motorists will be spared Mawaqif parking fees around mosques during taraweeh prayers.
Paid parking times during the holy month will be split into two periods — from 9am until 2pm, and 9pm until 2.30am, according to the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport.

Abu Dhabi imposes municipality fee on hotel stays

New fees on hotel stays in Abu Dhabi could raise hundreds of millions of dirhams in revenue for municipal authorities.

A new decree will impose a 4 per cent municipality fee on hotel bills and a Dh15 charge per night per room, according to a report in Al Ittihad. The fees will be collected by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA) and added to the government budget of the Department of Municipal Affairs.

Abu Dhabi hotels charge all guests and customers a city tax of 6 per cent and a 10 per cent service charge.

Free parking in Abu Dhabi for National Day holidays

Parking in the capital will be free from Tuesday to Friday during the National Day holidays.

On its Twitter account, Mawaqif said: “Dear followers, parking is free of charge during the official public holiday from Tuesday Dec 1 to Friday Dec 4, 2015 #AbuDhabi.”
