Firoz Nadiadwala’s “Welcome Back” has become the first Hindi film that was allowed to shoot at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The film is scheduled for release Jan. 2015.
While several other Indian and foreign film crews have approached the hotel to shoot at the location, this is the second film in the world after “Fast and Furious 7” that was permitted to enter the premises.

The dome area of this palace owned by the Abu Dhabi will be shown as Naseeruddin Shah’s living room in the film. Written and directed by Anees Bazmee, the film stars Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Paresh Rawal, Dimple Kapadia, Shiney Ahuja and Ankita Srivastava.
As always in films today, music is paid scant attention and no one has announced the composer(s). Maybe this time, too, they are not interested in the 2.5 to 5 billion more business that comes to a film’s theatrical revenues from good music alone.
