FIA GT1 World Championship | Battle of the Brands | 2011

After a successful inaugural 2010 race season, the Battle of the Brands returns to Yas Marina Circuit for the series opener of the 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship. For the second successive year, Yas Marina Circuit brings together a selection of the world’s most iconic car brands including Ford, Lamborghini, Nissan and Aston Martin in an exhilarating race weekend.

At the pinnacle of sports car racing, the FIA GT1 World Championship is one of only four World Championship race series sanctioned by the FIA. The event showcases some of the world’s most luxurious cars, including: the Aston Martin DB9, the Lamborghini Murciélago R-SV, the Ford GT and the Nissan GTR.

The Teams

Each car manufacturer supplies two racing teams with two cars and also provides support to the highly-professional independent teams competing. Teams consist of drivers, trackside engineers, technicians and managers.

The Drivers

A walk through an FIA GT1 grid will reveal some of the world’s leading drivers, from former Formula One drivers and GT champions to Le Mans 24 Hour winners. With a combination of veteran racers who’ve been around the block and eager young guns, the race promises to keep all spectators glued to the edge of their seats!
